3 Months of Books [ Jan-Mar 2016 ]

Why hello, hello, hello!!
We've come to a time of the year that says 1/4 of it is over. In the last 3 months I've read 12 books. Pretty good! That's probably a new personal best for me, and I also finally have enough to do a little wrap up of what I've read recently.
Welcome to a list of mini-reviews for 12 unassociated books.

1. Murder on the Orient Express, Agatha Christie
I LOVED THIS BOOK. It was my first Agatha Christie book, and will only be my last if I develop a sudden hatred for wonderful murder-related classics. Five stars.

2. Let it Snow, John Green (And others)
I should really credit the others for their work on this book because I didn't even like John Green's section all that much. It was a cute story, and I'll automatically like something if it has a complicated storyline that intertwines seamlessly. Good book! Four Stars!

3. The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald
The further I am from having read this, the more I love it. It's a fast story, and one of those ones that gives you insight into lives you will hopefully never live.  My initial rating was 3 stars, but it has been bumped up all the way to Five.

4. Grip Of the Shadow Plague (Fablehaven #3), Brandon Mull
This series is getting better and better. >:) It's darker, and 10x more awesome. Four stars.

5. Lord of the Flies, William Golding
I underwent quite the struggle trying to read the book. I felt like pieces of the story were missing, and nothing made sense for almost the entire time. It took my friend Elie explaining it to me to appreciate the story. Do your research before reading this book, or just be very intelligent. :'D Three stars.

6. Red Rising, Pierce Brown
Holy wow. This story threw me for a loop, because it feels like one thing at first, but then it's another, and there is so much character building and world building. I admit that it become boring, probably because I'm not old enough to appreciate politics. But it's weird because even though I was struggling to get through it, I look back on it like "Wow, that was awesome. I understood completely." I read the second one, so that should give you an idea of how committed I became. Three stars for the experience, five stars for the story. Cannot wait for the movie.

7. Tuck Everlasting, Natalie Babbitt
LOOOOVVEEEDDD IT!!! I already loved the movie in all it's cheesy glory, so to read this book was a beautiful walk into a book where the main character is 12 but she has a 17 y/o love interest, and I find that creepy so I'm thankful for the age difference in the movie. Five stars.

8. Golden Son (Red Rising #2), Pierce Brown
Like I said, committed. It was great, and amazing, and it took forever, but at the same time it went too fast. I think the world in this series is the one I can picture best out of all the worlds in literature. I think of it as a real place. It reminds me of the Lunar Chronicles, and Endgame. Both of which I love. Anyway, four stars.

9. Me Before You, Jojo Moyes
I laughed, I didn't cry because I'm incapable of human emotion-
I read this book because of the movie trailer, and it was everything I hoped for and more. It's very Nicholas Sparks meets TFIOS meets sad stories of people with opinions. Five stars.

10. Grace & Style, Grace Helbig
Lifestyle book, not a novel, but novel in character. Or something. Whenever I wanted to read something funny, I picked this book up, I sat down, I read it, it was funny. This to me is the best of Grace Helbig. I think she's hilarious but the subjects of comedy in her videos on youtube have been becoming more and more mature. I don't think she was ever a clean family-friendly comedian, but she was more so when I found her channel. Anyway, this book is 95% clean so I thoroughly enjoyed it. :) Four stars!!

11. Vengeance Road, Erin Bowman
Mwahaha, the book that I put on my christmas list purely because it looked beautiful and I wanted to own it!! And it turned out to be exactly what I wanted out of it! The premise is very cliche, I don't know why I decided to overlook that when requesting the book to own. But I'm glad I did, because they throw that cliche right out the window before you get too far into the story, and it's a lot of fun from there. Unfortunately I completely guessed a plot-twist before the fact... What can I say, I'm a genius when I comes to literature. But I still really like the book, and may even read it again because this is the sort of book you can read again and still have fun reading. Four stars.

12. New Moon (Twilight #2)
I grabbed it at the library just for fun, and I ended up liking it a whole lot. This series confuses me because it's so ridiculous, but also very deep. I'm doing a review on my channel for this one so keep your eyes to the sky and I'll send someone up there to write a message in the clouds. Make sure you wear sunglasses, because I don't know where that thing's gonna be.

I have 7 library books that I want to try to read before their due date so this is either going to be an epic month of April, or I will complete 2 books and my life dreams will slip away. Working for option A. :)

Thanks for reading!! What is the best book you've read in the last 3 months?
I've got a new video up today, take a look if you wanna and I hope you enjoy. Have a lovely night!
